Karl F. Kurz joined Anadarko in 2000 as Manager, Energy Marketing.  Mr. Kurz is responsible for the North America production & operation activities of Anadarko. He also oversees the global marketing of the company’s crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids (NGL).  In addition, Mr. Kurz  directs Anadarko’s midstream business and minerals business, which includes the company's royalty and operating interests in coal, trona and other mineral operations. 

Mr. Kurz began his career with ARCO Oil & Gas Company in 1983 and spent seven years in various upstream roles, with a focus on reservoir and production engineering. In 1990, he continued his career with a move into ARCO Oil & Gas Company’s Crude Oil Marketing Department. Mr. Kurz became Manager of Vastar Resources, Inc.’s Crude Oil and NGL Marketing Department in 1995 and was promoted to General Manager of Midstream and Marketing in 1998.

Mr. Kurz holds a bachelor of science in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1983. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
