On behalf of the officers and committee members of the 2003 Society of Petroleum Engineers Gulf Coast Section
Sporting Clays Tournament, it is my pleasure to announce this year’s event. The SPE Committee has decided to hold
the tournament at the Pecan Meadow Sporting Center in Liberty, Texas, on Friday the 6 th of June. The management
team at Pecan Meadow is extremely excited about hosting this year’s tournament and we feel all of the participants will
enjoy the course. Side events such as five-man flurry and three-stand will be available. The Center will be available for
practice on the Thursday (June 5 th ) preceding the tournament.
The tournament is limited to the first 600 shooters (120 five-man teams). Sponsoring companies will receive a shooting spot preference where possible. At least one team member must be a current SPE member and TBA’s (To Be Announced) participants are acceptable for pre-registration. All TBA information must be submitted NLT May 30, 2003. SPE reserves the right to limit the number of team entries per company, depending upon the response to the tournament. The entry fee includes: 100-target sporting clay round, a tournament gift, food, drinks and a wonderful day of fun and fellowship. Door prizes will be awarded and several shotguns will be raffled off. Trophies will be given to the top two teams in each flight and the top male and top female shooters. Please help make this year’s tournament a success by showing your support in purchasing sponsorships, donating door prizes, and/or participating in the event.
