Course Overview: 

The Oil and Gas industry has been a pioneer in developing and using all kinds of advanced technologies for many years. This short course will provide an understanding of the broad landscape of Digital Technologies that are in use in the oil and gas industry, for the past decades, and their status in current time.

The course starts the journey explaining the basics, followed by a comprehensive introduction to the digital technology practices, with a very specific focus on how they are applied in the oil and gas industry, such as:

  • Data management and analytics
  • AI (Artificial Intelligence) modeling and hybrid intelligence
  • Digital twins
  • Automation, Robotics, Unmanned Operations
  • Software development
  • Project management methodologies

 This highly informative session has been designed with an emphasis on providing a clear overview of these technologies, to oil and gas professionals.

The session will be delivered by a collage of subject matter experts and invited guests from each area, such as Sunil Garg, CEO of DataVedik, to show the close interaction which exists today between the physical and digital worlds.

Lidia Ramirez, is a geophysicist engineer with an MBA and 24 years in the oil, gas, and energy industry. She  worked with Schlumberger providing Information Solutions and Data and Consulting Services. Later on, she joined Halliburton Landmark and Halliburton Consulting units where she helped clients around the world to do reservoir characterization, field development planning, production optimization and asset management and evaluation. She also held operations and PMO director positions in Halliburton Consulting at the country level in Mexico, regional in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa and globally from Houston. She joined Capgemini 3 years ago, and currently she is the Global Deputy New Energies Lead, a principal advisor for upstream, energy and decarbonization, and leads the production on the Intelligent Industries team in North America.
