Abstract:

Explore the complexities of proppant transport in slickwater fracturing with renowned expert Dr. Xinhui Liu from Chevron Technical Center. In this exclusive session, Dr. Liu will delve into the groundbreaking research detailed in the paper, "Comprehensive Understanding of Proppant Transport for Slickwater Fracturing via CFD Modeling. (SPE-212348-MS)" This work challenges conventional fracture models by utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to provide a comprehensive understanding of proppant transport.

Discover how this innovative approach addresses gaps in traditional models, which often overlook the intricate interactions between proppant, fluid, and fracture walls. Dr. Liu's research highlights how CFD modeling can enhance proppant and fluid selection, improve proppant placement, and ultimately optimize hydraulic fracturing performance.

Key takeaways will include:

  • Insights into how CFD modeling bridges gaps in existing proppant transport models.
  • Findings from lab-scale and field-scale simulations that inform better proppant and fluid selection.
  • Understanding the impact of various parameters like proppant size, density, fluid viscosity, and more on proppant transport and placement.

Whether you're a professional in the field of hydraulic fracturing, a researcher, or simply curious about the latest advancements in energy technology, this session promises to offer valuable knowledge and networking opportunities.

Don't miss this chance to enhance your understanding of the cutting-edge techniques shaping the future of hydraulic fracturing. Secure your spot today!
