ABSTRACT OF PRESENTATION
THIS IS A JOINT MEETING WITH THE SPE-GCS RESERVOIR STUDY GROUP
The use of modern cloud technology and machine learning enabled the Nova oil field operator, Wintershall Dea Norge AS, to completely automate their hydrocarbon accounting practices and provide high quality forecast in almost real time to their reservoir engineers.
The Nova field, which came on stream in the summer of 2022, is developed with two subsea templates tied back to the existing Gjøa platform. The use of existing infrastructure enables efficient extraction of the resources in the reservoir at 2,570 metres below sea level. It also unlocks future tie-in opportunities and extends the economic lifetime of the Gjøa infrastructure. Estimated reserves is about 90 MMboe.
The field is an example of smaller developments that, once put into life, have strict requirements on cost effective operations due to the relative short lifespan until the field reaches its economic limit.
Use of standardized, modern cloud software underpinned with a well-designed automation platform for hydrocarbon management, now provides Nova with automated data collection and quality assurance, and use of AI technology creates accurate production forecasts without having to wait for any actual measures.

Walk-in space is available on a seat-limited basis at a fee more than the on-line registration fee.
