Sept. 11, 2024

Description

The evolution of fracture injection testing will be reviewed and the limitations of traditional diagnostic techniques in the modern oilfield will be discussed.  More advanced diagnostic techniques have been implemented in recent years including those founded in pressure transient analysis.  The foundation of pressure transient analysis theory has allowed for the establishment of the current DFIT-Flowback procedures.  Examples of these novel diagnostic techniques will be demonstrated in several basins and the author's operational lessons learned revealed.
