Chevron Vice President, Subsurface

Jitendra Kikani is the vice president of Subsurface in Chevron’s Technical Center. In this role, he is responsible for all non-exploratory Subsurface related disciplines across the enterprise, including earth sciences, petroleum and reservoir engineering/management, digital platform, and specialized laboratory services.

Previously, Jitendra was the director of reservoir management (RM) for Chevron International Exploration & Production (E&P) Company, where he was responsible for functional excellence, project assurance, reserves maturation, subsurface integrity, and base business performance, as well as people development. During his 27-year career at Chevron, Jitendra has worked in all the producing basins and has served in positions of increasing responsibility in the Technical Center, Upstream business units, capital projects and regional headquarters.

Jitendra is a Chevron Fellow and an Honorary member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers having received the highest honor for Technical Excellence and Lifetime Industry Contribution in 2021. He is also the author of a textbook on Reservoir Surveillance published by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in 2013, as well as several dozen published peer-reviewed technical papers. Jitendra holds a B.S. in petroleum engineering from the Indian School of Mines, an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, an M.S. in mathematics, and a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from Stanford University.
