Volunteers need to register at the site above and will need to bring a signed waiver the day of the event. Waivers will be emailed to all registered volunteers a week before the event. On the registration page for question #4 please choose the third answer down, "Centennial Garden (general gardening). Also be sure to set the date for Oct 3rd.
Coronavirus Precautions: Social distancing will be required, and each volunteer will need to bring a mask or face covering to wear during instruction and activities requiring individuals to be closer than 6 ft.
Parking: Lot C (Map will be sent out before the event)
Projects: range from weeding, mulching, raking trails/grounds to removing invasive plants. Projects are subject to change depending on the needs of the park at the time your group comes out.
Wear: All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants; weather appropriate clothing that can get dirty, wet, or muddy. Please do not wear shorts, halter tops, or clothing with references to alcohol, drugs, or sex, no sandals or flip-flops. Volunteers should wear cool and comfortable clothing.
Bring: individual water bottles, snacks (recommended during warm months); completed HPC waivers/photo releases for all participants (this includes leaders, chaperones, teachers, adults and youth).
Provided by HPC: gloves, tools, and a cooler of water with paper cups. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tools or to donate tools as a means to replenish HPC’s limited supply.
Map and waiver will be emailed to all registrants the week of the event.
