She has a track record in building and leading high performing, multi-cultural teams. In addition, Hind has a reputation for identifying and developing leadership talent.  Hind’s work also included leading major reorganization and cultural change efforts, utilizing carefully designed stakeholder engagement processes. Her subject matter expertise spans the areas of energy demand, industry analytics, power and renewables, energy transitions, and commodity markets.

Speaker #1 Abstract: Mid-Career Transitions in an Industry Going through its Mid-life Crisis

At the epicenter of the energy transition, digital transformation, and COVID19 disruption the energy industry is going through its own mid-life crisis. We will have a conversation about pivoting energy industry careers, while we take collective responsibility for pivoting our industry for sustainable and innovative growth.

We will begin by exploring the symptoms that differentiate a mid-career crisis from a mid-career transition. We will also go through empowering mindset shifts to embrace for pivoting careers. Hind Farag’s PVIOT^© framework will then be presented as a tool for resetting and relaunching careers in an industry that is being pivoted too. The framework addresses the typical risks that emerge during mid-career transitions and presents mitigation strategies.  We will conclude with examples of successful mid-career transitions by senior leaders in our industry to reinforce the effectives of the PIVOT^© framework.
