Speaker #1 Abstract: Mid-Career Transitions in an Industry Going through its Mid-life Crisis
At the epicenter of the energy transition, digital transformation, and COVID19 disruption the energy industry is going through its own mid-life crisis. We will have a conversation about pivoting energy industry careers, while we take collective responsibility for pivoting our industry for sustainable and innovative growth.
We will begin by exploring the symptoms that differentiate a mid-career crisis from a mid-career transition. We will also go through empowering mindset shifts to embrace for pivoting careers. Hind Farag’s PVIOT© framework will then be presented as a tool for resetting and relaunching careers in an industry that is being pivoted too. The framework addresses the typical risks that emerge during mid-career transitions and presents mitigation strategies. We will conclude with examples of successful mid-career transitions by senior leaders in our industry to reinforce the effectives of the PIVOT© framework.
