Unconventional oil and gas resource development in North America has benefited significantly from operators' relentless focus on cost reduction and optimization. A number of workflow improvements and new technologies have enabled operators to consistently reduce costs over several years. Some cost reductions have also come from discounts provided by oilfield service and equipment players following the recession. This presentation will provide an overview of cost optimization in unconventionals over the past few years and key drivers along with identifying new opportunities for cost optimization.

Uday Turaga is Founder & CEO of ADI Analytics, a management consulting firm based in Houston, Texas.
 
Through extensive experience gained at ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Booz & Company, and ADI Analytics, Turaga brings deep commercial and technical expertise in oil and gas, coal, renewables, and chemicals. Turaga has led ADI for the past nine years and through 300 projects for over 100 clients including ExxonMobil, Shell, Saudi Aramco, BASF, GE, Honeywell, and U.S. Department of Energy.
 
Turaga holds a PhD in fuel science from Penn State and an MBA from UT Austin. Also, he has authored over 100 papers and patents.
