Matthew Gallagher joined Parsley Energy in 2010 and currently serves as the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Parsley, Mr. Gallagher worked for Pioneer Natural Resources from 2005 to 2010.  Mr. Gallagher held a variety of engineering roles with Pioneer, including Gulf of Mexico Shelf Reservoir Engineer, Hugoton Reservoir Engineer, and Spraberry Production and Operations Engineer.  Additionally, Mr. Gallagher worked as Investor Relations Supervisor while at Pioneer.  Mr. Gallagher has a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and is a member of the Permian Basin Society of Petroleum Engineers and the West Texas Geological Society.

Steve Bitar

R&D Program Leader

ExxonMobil Research and Engineering

Steve Bitar is an R&D Program Leader in ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, Spring, TX.   He has spent half of his career in Refining & Supply and the other half in Research & Engineering holding a variety of engineering and management positions.  He has managed a wide range of disciplines including: process control, automation, real time optimization, instrumentation, project development, process analytics, electrical, offline optimization, and scheduling.

In his current role, Steve is responsible for a portfolio of R&D programs related to the replacement of aging and obsolete distributed control system technology in refining and chemical plants.

Steve is an instrument and multi-engine rated commercial pilot, an avid skier and guitarist, and enjoys playing ice hockey and soccer. He lives with his wife and 3 children in Spring, TX. Steve holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware, an M.S. in Computer Science from Drexel University, and an MBA in Finance from George Mason University.

David O’ Connor

Head of Global Projects

David has 34 years of experience in the Oil & Gas business. He joined Amoco as a petroleum engineer in 1983 and has a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering, both from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Over his 34-year career, he has worked around the world in numerous technical and managerial roles including President & General Manager for BP’s business in Sharjah UAE. Most recently, David was the Vice President – Deepwater Upstream Projects and was responsible for all phases of major global deepwater projects. He managed an annual budget of around $5 billion and had teams based in multiple countries around the world.

On March 1, 2015, David was appointed as the Head of BP’s Upstream Global Project’s Organization where he is now responsible for the delivery of all Upstream projects.

Paul McDonald

Vice President, Vertically Integrated Services

Pioneer Natural Resources

In August 2015, Paul McDonald was appointed Vice President, Vertically Integrated Services of Pioneer Natural Resources. Prior to his current role, McDonald served as Vice President of Operations, Southern Wolfcamp Asset Team.

McDonald has been with the Company since it was formed in 1997 and has over 30 years of industry experience. Earlier in his career, he held various engineering and management positions with Superior Oil, Mobil and Parker & Parsley.

 McDonald has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas and has served on the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE) National Board.

Margery Connor

Fellow and Manager, Modeling and Analytics Center of Excellence

Chevron

Margery has applied her proficiency, professional focus and analytics capabilities to address many business problems and bring significant value to Chevron over her 30-year career at Chevron. Her tools include optimization (e.g., linear programming and genetic algorithms) techniques, discrete event simulation, data science, and decision analysis. In her current role, she is leading the Modeling and Analytics Center of Excellence in IT.

Margery received her BS, Systems Engineering, from the University of Virginia and her MS, Operations Research, from University of California, Berkeley, CA.  Margery became an Edelman Academy member in 2013.  In recognition of her technical contribution to Chevron, was appointed a Fellow in 2013.  Margery serves as Chevron’s representative on the INFORMS Roundtable.

George King

Distinguished Engineering Advisor

Apache Corporation

George E. King is a Registered Professional Engineer with 45 years oilfield experience since starting with Amoco Production Research in 1971. He is currently Apache Corporation’s Distinguished Engineering Advisor.  His technical background includes basic research on energized fracturing, workovers. chemicals, acidizing, well integrity, horizontal well completions and unconventional formations and includes 75 presented and published papers and articles.

His education includes a BS, majoring in Chemistry from Oklahoma State (1972), and BS in Chemical Engineering and MS in Petroleum Engineering from University of Tulsa (1982).

Chris Haase

Senior Director, New Business Creation, GE Ventures

Chris is Senior Director on the New Business Creation team at GE Ventures and works with entrepreneurs and technology leaders in energy and digital. Chris joined the team in January 2017 from Royal Dutch / Shell in The Netherlands, where he defined, planned and managed the implementation of operated and non-operated joint ventures and divestments around the world. Prior to this, Chris was the chief business advisor to Shell’s CTO and Executive Vice President of Innovation, R&D and also head of external research for Americas where he closed a number of strategic investment and partnership agreements. With nearly 20 years’ experience in the early-stage technology and venture space, Chris has worked at independent startups, Shell Technology Ventures Fund 1, Shell GameChanger and BTG Ventures in Philadelphia. A former Department of Defense Fellow and adjunct professor at the United States Naval Academy, Chris held several R&D positions at the DoD and served as a technology commercialization advisor for the National Technology Transfer Center. An inventor with several patents, Chris received his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Chicago, MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Ohio State University and professional certificates in Venture Capital and Private Equity from Harvard University and Strategic Decision.

Tony Caletka, PE, CCM, CFCC

Principal, Capital Projects and Infrastructure Energy Leader, PwC

Tony Caletka is a professional Engineer with 25 years of experience providing services related to capital efficiency, engineering, construction, program and project management and dispute resolution in E&C, Upstream, Midstream, Downstream, EPCI, OFS and LNG segments. He is an author, adjunct professor and recognized expert in CPM Scheduling, Project Controls, Forensic Delay Analysis, and advising owners, contractors and operators on the establishment of governance, risk and project delivery frameworks. As a civil engineer, Tony has hands-on experience on managing large portfolios of small capital projects as well as large mega-projects, where he designs and implements PMO and PM/CM organizations aligned with contracting strategy, dynamic capital allocation models and project lifecycle management processes. Tony’s team benchmarks projects, organisations, project management systems and reporting tools to achieve alignment with leading practice, industry standards and the avoidance and resolution of disputes, cost over-runs and delays.

Nate Clark

Nate Clark is a leading technology strategist for the Oil and Gas industry, and is part of  "Strategy&" -  PwC’s strategy consulting business. Based in Houston, TX he leads PwC's Digital Energy and Energy Technology Strategy practices.  He has more than 20 years’ experience in energy and technology, and specializes in large scale technology-enabled change programs and digital business.

Hossam Elbadawy

President & CEO, O&G Technologies

Hossam is the President and CEO of O&G Technologies, a Houston based technology incubator focused on the oil and gas industry. Hossam is the former CEO of Tercel Oilfield Products, that he sold in May 2016. He also served as the Senior Operating Partner at Lime Rock Partner for 7 years. Prior to serving in these roles, Hossam spent 17 years at Schlumberger, most recently as Vice President of Schlumberger Manufacturing. Earlier in his career at Schlumberger, Hossam managed the company’s leading-edge Rosharon Technology Center and the Houston Product Center. He currently serves on the board of directors of Highland Fluid Technology, Rheidiant and Deep Imaging.

Hossam is a graduate of Ain Shams University (B.S. in Mechanical Eng), the Kellogg School of Management (MBA) and McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University (M.Eng.).

Matthew Dawson

Matt is currently the CEO of Axiom Genesis.  Prior to founding Axiom, he was an Investment Director with Statoil’s venture capital division as well as the Chief Technology Officer and founder of the Statoil spin-out Reveal Energy Services.  Prior to that he worked for Statoil research and ExxonMobil research.  He has founded three companies and has filed over 25 patents in the oil & gas space  alone, covering nearly a dozen new technologies.  He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the age of 24 from MIT.

Abhijeet Inamdar

Abhijeet has 14 years of hands on experience in evaluating and developing US Onshore assets (Eagle Ford, Marcellus, Bakken, etc). In his previous role as a Reservoir Engineering Manager for US Onshore he led a team of Engineers that was responsible for optimizing well performance. He has hands on experience in optimizing well spacing and completions. In his E&P career he has evaluated many acquisition and divestment opportunities. He was also responsible for SEC reporting, project economics, type curve inputs for short term and long term business plans. He is currently serving on the advisory board for Reveal Energy Services and Hicor Technologies. Prior to Statoil Abhijeet worked at SM Energy and Schlumberger. He graduated from University of Alaska, Fairbanks with MS in Petroleum Engineering in 2004.

Sylvain Bedouet

With a background in Mechanical Engineering, Sylvain was an award-winning graduate, which has helped him in his career to give him both the management and hands-on experience in mechanical and manufacturing engineering. He joined BiSN in June 2015 as the Vice President of Engineering. Sylvain has an outstanding track record of successfully both developing and deploying high specification designs to the field.

As Vice President of Engineering, Sylvain is responsible for the technology and product development. He establishes the technical direction, manages the product portfolio, and sets the R&D budget goals in accordance with the company’s financial plan. Previous to this role, Sylvain worked for Schlumberger where he held a number of demanding positions which required him to manage a large-scale type of program.

Nampetch Yamali

Nampetch Yamali has over 15 years’ experience in the international oil and gas industry with both Unocal and Chevron. She has held a variety of roles in exploration and production, including field development, reservoir engineering, production operations, non-operated joint venture management, business development, and asset divesture, as well as technology research, development and management. Currently Nampetch serves as Technology Deployment and Adoption Manager for Chevron Technology Ventures; an organization within Chevron that identifies and evaluates innovative external technologies, and champions their integration into Chevron.

Nampetch earned a M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, and a B.Eng in Petroleum Engineering (honors) from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
