Description
The approaches to managing the risk for the offshore fixed structures have matured over a number of years since the installation of the first platform in the Gulf of Mexico in 1948. The industry has collectively taken steps through many jointly funded projects to better understand and mitigate the risks. This knowledge is now reflected in the industry available recommended practice. Similar industry initiatives have commenced for the offshore floating facilities.
Guy Noble will provide an insight to the industry knowledge of the integrity management issues affecting floating facilities. He will draw on his extensive experience to outline the maturing parallels with the fixed offshore structures and the synergies that exist between the generic approaches to the overall integrity management system.
