Description

The first Bossier sand stimulation treatments was performed by Anadarko during the mid-1990''s in Freestone County, Texas. Since then, Anadarko has pumped crosslinked gels, water-fracs, and hybrid water-fracs in an effort to optimize production from the Bossier. The hybrid water-fracs were designed to combine the advantages and benefits of both conventional gel and water-frac treatments. Recently, Anadarko undertook a study to compare the stimulation effectiveness of water-fracs with the hybrid water-frac technology. Stimulation effectiveness, measured in terms of fracture half-length and conductivity, was evaluated using short-term pressure buildup testing integrated with decline type-curve analysis of long-term gas production data. The results of this study will be revealed in this presentation.
