Description

Integrated teams, using new technologies and a well manufacturing process has allowed ConocoPhillips to redevelop Chittim Ranch Field in Maverick County, Texas. The Chittim Field was discovered in the mid-fifties and was thought to be nearly depleted. A reservoir study, using modern geologic descriptions, determined there was substantial remaining resource remaining potential left in the field, but the wells would have to be drilled cheaply, and multi-stage horizontal fracture stimulation treatments were required. The team is currently drilling six wells per week using a coil tubing drilling rig and costs are 20% less than the 2006 pilot program.
