Description
An associate professor of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. Will end my current work at December 2024 since our Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering program was closed officially in May 2024.
As an associate professor, my main duties include
(1) Teaching multiple undergraduate geology/geophysics/petroleum engineering courses, including Physical and Structural Geology, Sedimentology and Sequence Stratigraphy, Petroleum Geology, Programming for Engineers, Production Engineering I, Formation Evaluation, Geophysics, Intro to Reservoir Modeling and Simulation, Senior Project Proposal, Senior Capstone Design Project, Well Stimulation, Machine Learning Application in Engineering, Deep Learning.
(2) Mentoring student research in funded research projects and the senior capstone design project for petroleum engineering students, with several students receiving award in the SPE-organized competitions and multiple publication/presentation by students
(3) Leading the Center of Intelligent Reservoir Research and Service, including the daily management, writing grant proposals and reports, conducting research, outreach, supporting student activities, etc.
(4) Maintaining the Computer Lab, PNGE program website, and ABET Accreditation assessment, and working with other faculty in marketing, recruiting, industry partnership and outreach, etc.
(5) Offering services, including committee in Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development, outreach events, journal reviewers, associate editor of several journals, AAPG meeting session chair, etc.
