Experience

Engineering Project Manager at Downhole Innovations
Lead a group of designers and engineers in designing and validating new products for customers. Meet with client's engineers on a regular basis to review project status, mitigate risk, reduce development time, and manage client expectations. Work closely with the customer, sales, procurement, and test lab to define the project scope, project schedule, project cost, project resources, project quality plan, project risk, project milestones, and project closure.
• Developed a commodity packer family in two years. This packer family generated $10M in sales for our client in the first two years.
• Redesigned a client's patented product to achieve product test verification. Reengineered the product’s hydraulic fluid systems and resolved the problem. The product passed customer requirements testing, and a new patent was applied for the product.
• Conducted thorough API testing, adhering to standards such as API 11D1 V0, API 11D1 V3, API 19LH, API 19OH V1, and API 19G2 V3.

Engineering Manager at NOV, Artex
Led a group of designers and engineers engaged in designing, repairing and building custom wireline trucks. Artex was purchased by NOV in 2014.
• Reduced the time required by the engineering department to generate drawing packages by 50% by implementing a modular design approach. This reduced truck build time by two weeks.
• Dramatically improved quality performance by restructuring the engineering department, establishing standard modular components, and upgrading from 2-D CAD to 3-D CAD. These actions not only improved our efficiency but also significantly enhanced the quality of our products.
• Expanded the modular approach to cabinet interiors and vehicle entryway steps, which improved manufacturability and reduced manufacturing costs and time.
• CAD Package Use Autodesk Inventor

Engineering Manager at Petroquip Energy Services
Built an engineering team, planned and directed a group of designers and engineers in the engineering department, defined the design requirements, managed patent attorneys, and managed outside contracted engineers.
• Increased sales by giving the sales department a new product line of hydraulic sliding sleeves and expanded the mechanical sliding sleeves product line.
• Increased PetroQuip's book value by successfully receiving 15 patents approved by the United States patent office with outside patent attorneys.
