STEM/Nova Day at HMNS is an open-house style event on Saturday October 8th for Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts and their families! Scouts will have the opportunity to earn STEM/Nova Awards during their visit to HMNS. These awards are part of the Scouts BSA’s initiative to create excitement around science, technology, engineering and math. They help scouts explore new areas of STEM and discover how exciting these subjects can be! Part of these awards include talking to professionals about their STEM careers, and exploring STEM through activities, research and demonstrations.
During the event, Scouts will visit STEM Professional Booths to talk to STEM professionals and learn more about these organizations involvement with science, technology, engineering and math. As a STEM Professional Booth, you will have the opportunity to interact with scouts and their families through a STEM-related activity or demonstration. The STEM Professional Booths will be in the Grand Hall and accessible to the general public in addition to the scouts and their families that are expected to attend the event. It is free to participate as a STEM Professional Booth and it is a great opportunity to share STEM with the next generation of Scouts!
