Melissa Martin is a Sr. Technical Advisor in the Global SMEs group within the Petroleum Services division at Core Laboratories Advanced Technology Center in Houston.  She received a degree in geology from Lamar University in Texas.  She has twenty-four years of experience in the core analysis industry with leading oil and gas service companies, rejoining Core Laboratories in 2023. 


She began her career in 2000 as a core analyst; quickly moving into supervisory, management, and advisory roles.  She is experienced in routine and advanced (special) core analysis with a primary focus in dynamic fluid flow measurements, specifically relative permeability and formation damage.  Her experience ranges from test design and implementation to data evaluation and QC in both ambient and reservoir condition analysis.

Omar Reffell is an advisor and project manager in the Integrated Reservoir Solutions group within the Petroleum Services division at Core Laboratories Advanced Technology Center in Houston. He received a degree in chemistry at the University of Vermont and joined the Core Laboratories team in 2012.


He began his career with Core Lab performing wellsite analysis and laboratory core processing; quickly making his way into data analysis, supervisory, and management roles within the Routine Rocks group while simultaneously managing various projects both conventional and unconventional from basins around the world. He played an important role with other team members in developing the multi-disciplinary Petrophysical Reservoir Integrated Saturation Measurement (PRISM) product for unconventional reservoir characterization.
