David Cecil will be the opening keynote speaker for the 2021 A&D Symposium.


He is a Partner in the Strategic Advisory Group, based in Houston. Prior to joining PJT Partners, Cecil spent three years as the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for Southwestern Energy (SWN). At SWN, he was responsible for advising the CEO and Board on developing, managing and executing the company’s strategic direction. Prior to joining SWN, Cecil had a 20 year career in Strategic Advisory, most recently as a Managing Director and Head of Lazard’s North American E&P group, where he served from 2012 to 2017. Prior to Lazard, from 2007 to 2012, he was Managing Director of Scotia Waterous (USA), then the oil and gas arm of Scotiabank, where he was co-head of the Houston office and led the U.S. energy investment banking practice.


He received his BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and his MBA from Duke University.

Doug Reynolds will be the luncheon keynote speaker for the 2021 A&D Symposium.


Reynolds joined Simmons Energy, A Division of Piper Sandler as a Managing Director in 2020. Previously, he was head of U.S. energy corporate and investment banking at Scotiabank. Prior to that, he was the head of U.S. upstream investment banking at a leading investment bank. He has led nearly $100 billion of merger, acquisition, divestiture and capital markets assignments in the energy industry across six continents and more than 30 countries during his career.


Reynolds earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Colgate University.
