BusDev: Cube Development - What, How, When, and Why?

John Raines, 36, is vice president of the Delaware Basin Business Unit for Devon Energy. John started at Devon as an intern in 2005, his junior year of college. Upon graduation, Raines joined Devon's Land Department and served in roles of increasing responsibility in Devon's Business Development and Marketing departments before his most recent positions as vice president of Land and Regulatory and vice president of the Rockies Business Unit. John received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma, with majors in energy management and finance. Raines also holds a law degree from Oklahoma City University. John is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.

Patrick Kamann is the Delaware Basin Geoscience Manager for Devon Energy. He joined Devon in 2005 and worked as a geologist in many of Devon’s key onshore U.S. plays. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management from the University of Findlay, a Master of Science degree in Geosciences from Wright State University and a Master of Science degree in Geology from Oklahoma State University. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Oklahoma City Geological Society. 

Kurtis Schmitz is a Planning Supervisor at Devon Energy, leading multiple planning teams to develop and deliver all components to successfully execute plans for the company’s Delaware Basin asset. Kurtis joined Devon Energy in 2011 as a Senior Drilling Engineer and moved into planning leadership in 2014. He holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Oklahoma: one each in zoology and mechanical engineering.
