Brian K. Ayers was named Vice President of Geology for Rosehill Resources in April 2017. Ayers has over 38 years of geology, operations, and management experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to Rosehill, he served as Vice President of Geology for Tema. Ayers has also held numerous executive positions for public and private companies, including President and Chief Executive Officer of Centurion Exploration Company, Senior Vice President of Geology for America Capital Energy Corporation, Vice President, Division Manager for Samson Lone Star and Vice President, Domestic Exploration for Coastal Oil & Gas Corporation.


He began his career in 1980 as an Exploration Geophysicist at Texaco in New Orleans. Ayers served as an independent director on the Board of Directors of Tamaska Oil and Gas, Ltd. from 2007 to 2014. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Geophysical Science from the University of Chicago and a Masters of Business Administration from the Else School of Management, Millsaps College.

He possesses more than 25 years of experience and expertise directing strategy and growth for small and mid-cap oil and gas companies. Daches has guided multiple E&P companies through financial strategies, capital raises, private and public offerings. He has also developed, negotiated and implemented various midstream and infrastructure solutions for multiple oil and gas companies. Daches holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wilkes University in Pennsylvania, and he is a certified public accountant in good standing with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.

Gene Shepherd is a founder and the Chief Executive Officer of ATX Energy Partners.  Prior to that, he was a founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Brigham Resources from 2013 until the sale of substantially all of its southern Delaware Basin assets to Diamondback Energy in February 2017.


Shepherd had 20 years of financial and operational experience in the energy industry before serving as Chief Financial Officer of Brigham Exploration Company from 2002 until its sale to Norway-based Statoil ASA in December 2011.  Earlier in his career, he served as Integrated Energy Managing Director for the investment banking division of ABN AMRO Bank, where he executed merger and acquisition advisory services and capital markets transactions for energy companies.  He had a similar focus in his role at Prudential Securities, Stephens and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets.  Prior to his stint in the financial services industry, he worked for more than four years as a petroleum engineer for Amoco Production Company and the Railroad Commission of Texas.


Shepherd is a member of the Engineering Advisory Board of the Cockrell School of Engineering and was awarded the school’s Distinguished Engineering Graduate Award in 2017.  He has also served on various nonprofit boards, including KIPP Austin Public Schools, the Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and Trinity Center. Gene earned his bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering in 1981 and his MBA in 1986, both from The University of Texas at Austin.
