Data Analytics: Machine Learning Applications in Upstream O&G

Caio is a specialist in robotics and machine learning holding a Ph.D. in the area from the University of São Paulo. After obtaining his BSc in computer science from PUC Minas he started a Master's degree in robotics, mainly working with computer vision and autonomous vehicles. During his Ph.D. he applied machine learning (deep learning) to the task of road detection and proposed new models for the task. Since August Caio is a developer and data analyst at Intelie, striving to deliver practical and valuable machine learning-based solutions to Intelie’s customers.

Vincent Dumlao is a Petroleum Engineer, with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He started his career as a Directional Driller for Schlumberger in U.S. land, then moved to Petrobras working as a Drilling Engineer and Company Man for various projects in North America, South America, and Asia. He is currently acting as Senior Advisor for Oil & Gas at Intelie, working with their team of developers and data scientists to aid in the digitization and adoption of advanced analytic techniques in the oilfield.

David S. Fulford is a Staff Reservoir Engineer, Exploration Evaluation, with Apache Corporation. He has 11 years of industry experience with Apache and, previously, Devon Energy. His current work focuses on portfolio modeling and project characterization for long-term capital guidance, which incorporates production surveillance, stochastic modeling, risk & uncertainty quantification, and estimation de-biasing & calibration. He has authored several technical papers on these subjects, and has served as session chair for the Data Analytics and Production Forecasting & Reserves sessions for the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC). Fulford is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE), and Society of Decision Professionals (SDP).
