One of my favorite memories from college would be my resource economics class. It tied what I had learned to date about petroleum engineering back to real-world finances and brought a lot into perspective for me. The SPE-GCS scholarship made it economic for me to attend school during the year without having to get a part-time job so that I could focus on schoolwork and learning primarily. Although I made it through school fine, I was lax and reluctant to take full advantage of the opportunities that SPE-GCS provides.
