Completion and Well Spacing Optimization through Reservoir Characterization

Completion and well spacing optimization in Unconventional, Multi-Stage Horizontal wells is a complex process.  This short course will step through the process of reservoir characterization and fracture effectiveness using production analysis to build the models necessary to answer the questions on optimization.  Formation permeability and fracture treatment effectiveness are the two primary values that affect productivity.  In unconventional horizontal wells, effective fracture half-length is the primary value controlling EUR.  Determining these values from the analysis of production data will be presented and discussed.

Many examples from real wells will be presented in several different formations, oil & gas.
