PF&C: Compact and Chemical free Deoxygenation of Injection Water

The Minox Deoxygenation process is based upon gas stripping of dissolved oxygen from water in a closed loop of circulating nitrogen gas, in which the oxygen is being removed in a low temperature catalytic process. The process operates on positive pressure thus the booster pump step prior to the injection pumps may be eliminated. Since 1992 about 30 systems have been delivered world-wide. Minox units are installed on fixed platforms, Spars, FPSOs and onshore facilities. During the years the process have continuously been developed and improved and are today a reliable, robust and field proven technology. The paper will explain the principle of the technology, alternative set-up and give examples of recent systems that have been put in operation.
