Westside: Perforating for Hydraulic Fracturing

 Perforating for Hydraulic Fracturing

As the link between the wellbore and formation, perforations affect the outcome of hydraulic fracturing treatments.  Over the years, field and laboratory studies have evaluated flow through perforations, leading to improved completion practices for hydraulic fracturing.  This presentation reviews key study findings and shows how this information has been used to gain control and improve the results of hydraulic fracturing.

Topics to be covered include:

   * Mechanical configuration of perforations
   * Near-wellbore flow-path restrictions
   * Perforation breakdown and conditioning methods
   * Dynamics of proppant transport through perforations
   * Limited-entry treatment design

Please print and bring credit card receipt if you registered and paid on-line.
