With a majority of the world’s oil reserves being classified as “mature” – today’s energy companies are having to apply enhanced oil recovery techniques in order to extend producing field lives significantly beyond that of primary depletion. Just what “makes” a successful CO2 or Thermal Flood. What is the “science” behind immiscible gas injection, and chemical floods? These technologies and selected others will be covered in this brief overview. Attendees will have a better understanding of the impact such technologies can have on the reserve base of not just energy companies….but countries such as the US.
