The presentation is a one-hour discussion of aspects of engineering ethics primarily designed to fulfill the continuing education requirements of various State Boards of Professional Engineering Registration.  It offers a review of Engineering Codes of Ethics prepared by State Boards and Professional Societies.  The presentation, through use of case studies and situational illustrations, provides practical methods of identifying the essentials in ethical decisions and resolving conflicts between ethical principles.

Brown’s undergraduate degree is in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He holds Master’s and PhD degrees in Engineering from The University of Tulsa. He is an active member of SPE, having served as member and chairman of several national committees, Program Chairman of the 1982 ATCE and currently as a member of the SPE Engineering Professionalism Committee. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Oklahoma.
