 Mission: Our mission is to provide the members of the Westside Study Group, located in the energy corridor of Houston, with current and relevant technologies covering topic’s related to drilling and completions of oil and gas wells. We strive to provide an open forum that covers both onshore and offshore topics that challenge the way we approach our business and strengthen our member’s technical knowledge. It is the goal of the WSG to provide an atmosphere to its members that enhances the cross flow of information between presenters and attendees as well as a network to varying disciplines to aid in the members overall professional competence.

 Mission: The international study group's mission is to provide a forum for the Houston area SPE membership to share information on business practices and considerations, projects, and technological applications significant to the worldwide oil and gas industry.  Mission: Enhance the core competencies of Projects, Facilities, and Construction professionals through the transfer of knowledge at forums and workshops. Attract new members, promote the membership and involvement of upstream Facilities and Construction engineering/technical professionals within SPE. Maintain industry awareness of facility and construction related issues by hosting topical monthly meetings. Support the educational initiatives of SPE through the funding of scholarships, mentoring of engineering students and young professionals, and providing public speakers.

4Study Group Name: Digital Energy

To exchange information on the operational and business drivers with communications and knowledge -based IT processes and systems within our industry. Intranets, satellites, wireless devices and the Internet are new tools for improving productivity and profitability. The results are new ways of networking, (e-)learning, knowledge management and conducting (e-)business. The (not so new) news is we now have a digital oilfield. Our goal is to:
· provide opportunities for members to acquire and upgrade their technical skills,

establish networking opportunities for those with common interests, and
·
emphasize and demonstrate the impact that digital technology has on SPE members in the E&P industry.

 Mission: We will strive to disseminate technical information to the membership and to all interested parties. We will focus on improved and cutting edge technological developments. The information methodology will include case studies, ongoing research, and development. We will utilize monthly meetings, synopses, and summaries to transfer the information to the membership. Finally, the Drilling Study Group forum will act as a network for members to communicate ideas and solutions to each other.
