			<title>Hiep Vu 2007 Young Engineer of the Year</title>
			<description>&lt;font size=&quot;3&quot;&gt;The SPE Gulf Coast Section proudly honors Hiep Vu as the 2007 Young Engineer of the Year. Hiep is a senior production engineer for Shell International E&amp;amp;P in the EPT Subsea and Pipelines Organization. His current responsibilities include front-end engineering, detailed design, material selection, and on-site execution of completion operations for subsea wells in the Gulf of Mexico.A member of SPE since entering college in 1991, Vu is currently the SPE GCS vice-treasurer and will become Section treasurer in2007&amp;#8211;08. He has been active in the Section with previous roles as the Emerging Leaders Program chairman, GCS board director-at large,Executive Committee member, Audit Committee member, Nomination and Succession Planning Committee member, director of Educational Sponsors for the Golf Committee, and member of the new ad-hoc Education Committee.He has been involved with SPE&amp;#8217;s local high school recruiting efforts as well as in various roles with SPE&amp;#8217;s collegiate initiatives (ATCE Petrobowl,Regional and International Student Paper Contests).
